Sustainable Living

Reducing and ultimately eliminating fossil fuels is critical to our collective fight against climate change. At Qmerit, we believe the fastest way to accomplish that goal is to provide consumers and companies with safe, reliable and affordable alternatives.
Our mission is to help people and small businesses make the switch from high-carbon energy to low-carbon electric technology in our homes, buildings and streets. By making that transition easy and rewarding, we can help speed the elimination of fossil fuels and create a sustainable economy that benefits consumers, companies and our planet.

Reducing Emissions

Transportation accounts for 28% of U.S. greenhouse gas production—more than any other source1. Cars, trucks, buses and motorcycles are responsible for three-quarters of that total. In fact, one gas-powered passenger vehicle typically generates about 4.6 metric tons of CO2 annually2. Electric vehicles, by contrast, produce no emissions. At scale, transitioning from gas-powered vehicles to EVs can have a huge impact on overall emissions.

We can have just as big an impact on emissions by switching to electric technologies in our homes and businesses. The use of solar power, energy storage systems, microgrids and other innovative technologies will make our economies more efficient and sustainable.

Qmerit accelerates the adoption of these critical electric solutions. Our products and services are already helping to reduce carbon emissions, and we will continue to expand that positive impact as we grow our business across North America.

Saving Money

A 2020 study by Consumer Reports found that a typical EV owner who does most of their charging at home can expect to save an average of $800 to $1,000 a year on fueling costs over an equivalent gasoline-powered car3. Over the lifetime of an EV, owners can expect to save between $6,000 and $10,000, taking into account additional savings on maintenance and lower rates of depreciation.
Over time, businesses and consumers will experience similar savings by switching to solar power, microgrids and other efficiency-enhancing electric solutions. Those savings could increase due to improvements in technology that lower costs, and government incentives and regulations aimed at encouraging the growth of green technologies. Whether you are a family trying to make ends meet or a company operating fleets of vehicles, those savings will have a dramatic impact on the bottom line.

Building Resiliency

As climate change increases the frequency and severity of storms, the reliability of our local electric utilities is not what it once was. That means more disruptive power outages that put your family and your business at risk.

Energy resiliency is more important than ever for homeowners. More people are working and studying from home, multiplying the disruptive impacts of power outages. The solution: electrification enhancements that make homes more resilient against weather events and grid fragility. A growing number of homeowners are combining solar installations with energy storage and microgrid technology to ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity.
