Contributing to the rapidly developing electric vehicle (EV) market while continuing expansion into the UK and Europe, Qmerit, North America’s leading installer of home and commercial EV chargers and other electrification technologies, has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer, Oliver C. Phillips, and Chief Financial Officer, Patrick Burwell.
Phillips most recently served as Qmerit’s Chief Financial Officer and Burwell as the firm’s Controller. They will apply their industry and finance function expertise to continue positioning Qmerit as a leader in delivering the workforce and infrastructure solutions that underpin a successful transition to EVs and broader electrification.
Phillips joined Qmerit in 2021 after a 10-year career in private equity that encompassed investment sourcing, diligence, oversight and acquisitions within the energy, electrification and technology spaces. He also led the establishment of new-market strategies involving Europe and the Middle East.
As Qmerit’s CFO, Phillips has been instrumental in building the organization’s financial strength and flexibility as a fast-growing firm. He also collaborated with industry stakeholders to pioneer innovative solutions to make electrification more attainable and feasible for home and building owners in addition to automakers and fleet managers.
“Electrification is entering a crucial expansion phase, so for me this is an opportunity of a lifetime to impact that transition,” said Phillips. “I am thrilled to continue teaming with my Qmerit colleagues in helping to make the promise of electrification a reality for our world.”
Burwell came to Qmerit in 2020 with a strong financial controls and reporting background in air and ground transportation. In addition to his strategic understanding of GAAP policies and procedures, he has led cross-functional teams involved in financial statement analysis and preparation, audits and internal controls, government filings and accounts payable and receivable.
“Being an industry leader takes vision and strategy, but also the discipline to support, sustain and advance the effort at scale,” said Burwell. “I am looking forward to helping Qmerit as a world-class organization develop the market-leading finance function that enables its future growth and positioning.”
“Delighted to have Oliver and Patrick in their new positions as Qmerit has always championed a ‘promote from within’ culture,” said Qmerit founder & CEO Tracy K. Price, “I know they will continue to provide tremendous value to the company in these roles.”
Qmerit was among the companies recently spotlighted by the White House for working “to bring a clean, safe, affordable, and reliable transportation future to Americans even faster.”
