Nevada EV Rebates and Incentives
Nevada is one U.S. state currently making significant strides in expanding its electric vehicle (EV) charging network by leveraging public and private investments.
If you already own an EV or are considering making the switch, there are numerous incentives and programs designed to support your electrification journey and make it easier and more affordable to drive electric in Nevada.
Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative EV Rebate
Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative members can take advantage of a $500 rebate when purchasing an electric vehicle.
This incentive is available to drivers registered in Plumas, Sierra, Lassen, or Washoe Counties who are replacing a gas-powered vehicle with an EV. To receive the rebate, you will also need to provide proof that your home is equipped with a properly installed EV charger.
Nevada EV Charger Rebates, Incentives and Tax Credits
Nevada EV Charger Tax Credits
Nevada does not have a state-wide tax credit for EV chargers, but residents may qualify for the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit which is a federal tax credit worth up to $1,000 to offset costs related to installing an EV charger at home.
Additionally, businesses may qualify for the 30C commercial charging tax credit, worth up to $100,000 per installed EV charging port and available until June 30, 2026.
EV Charger Rebates from Nevada Utilities
Nevada residents also have the opportunity to save on EV chargers thanks to programs offered by local utility companies within the state. These utility initiatives help make home charging more accessible while further supporting the state’s shift toward a more sustainable future:
Lincoln County Power District EV Charger Rebate
Residents who receive their electricity from the Lincoln County Power District can benefit from a program offering free EV chargers and installation services. In exchange, customers are expected to charge their EVs only from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., which helps reduce grid strain.
NV Energy EV Charger Rebates
As Nevada’s largest utility, NV Energy serves over 2.4 million customers across 44,000 square miles. As part of its $100 million investment in EV charging infrastructure, the utility is offering incentives to businesses and public entities for installing public EV charging stations.
For Level 2 EV charging projects, the incentive will cover 75% of the total project cost with a $30,000 cap or $3,000 per charging connector, depending on which amount is lower.
For DC fast charging locations, NV Energy offers $400 per kWh, with a cap of $40,000.
NV Energy Residential Managed Charging Program
NV Energy offers a Residential Managed Charging Program to help balance grid demand and reward customers for flexible, smart EV charging. Eligible participants install a qualified, connected ENERGY STAR Level 2 smart charger (meeting ISO 15118 standards and compatible with open protocols) and allow NV Energy to manage charging during peak events (shifting to off-peak when possible).
Key incentives include:
- A one-time upfront enrollment incentive of up to $500 for income-qualified customers when enrolling with a qualifying charger.
- Annual performance payments based on participation in demand response events.
The program requires a minimum 36-month commitment, at least 75% participation in events, and proof of EV registration. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Check availability, as funds may be limited or extended beyond 2025 deadlines.
Visit NV Energy’s Residential Managed Charging Program for full details, eligibility, qualified equipment lists, and to apply.

Where Are Public EV Charging Stations Located in Nevada?
While Nevada is actively working to expand its EV charging infrastructure—including through NV Energy incentives, private networks like Tesla Superchargers, and federal programs—public EV charging stations remain more concentrated in urban areas and larger cities with higher population density such as Las Vegas, Reno, and Carson City.
As of March 2026, the majority of stations (including Level 2 destination chargers at hotels, casinos, workplaces, and universities) cluster in these metro areas for convenience and higher demand.
Tesla has built a Supercharger network of fast charging stations throughout the state, with locations approximately 150 miles apart along I-80 and I-95.
Visit the U.S. Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center Map of EV Charging Station Locations in Nevada, which can be sorted and filtered based on public access, charger type (Level 1, Level 2, DC fast), and connector type (NACS, J1772, CCS, CHAdeMO).
