Save on Electrification with SCE EV Incentives
3 Min. Read
For over a century, Southern California Edison (SCE) has been a pivotal force serving central, coastal, and southern California.
As a utility provider promoting sustainability through strategic public and private partnerships that enhance EV charging accessibility, SCE’s commitment now also extends to offering a range of rebates and incentives, making the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) more attainable for both consumers and businesses.
In this article, we’ll take a closer look at these SCE EV incentives helping drive the shift to sustainable energy in Southern California.
SCE Pre-Owned EV Rebate Program
As an SCE customer, you can qualify for a $1,000 SCE EV rebate on buying or leasing a pre-owned EV. Additionally, if you meet certain income requirements, you can receive up to $4,000.
To access this incentive, you must apply for this SCE EV rebate within 180 days of buying or leasing your pre-owned EV.
Charge Ready Home Rebate Program
Charging your EV at home is often the most convenient option, but it may require some electrical upgrades. As a Southern California Edison customer, you may be eligible for an SCE EV charger rebate to cover these additional costs.
If you live in a single-family home with an electrical panel of less than 200 amps, the utility offers a Charge Ready SCE EV charger rebate, helping to make convenient and safe EV charging more affordable.
Eligible customers can receive up to $4,200 for a panel upgrade if they meet the utility’s income requirements. Additionally, customers living in disadvantaged communities who don’t meet the utility’s income requirements can qualify for up to $2,100.
SCE Time-of-Use D Prime Rate
SCE not only offers EV rebates but also helps you save on EV charging with a time-of-use (TOU) billing program known as TOU-D-Prime.
You can qualify for an off-peak rate if you charge your EV between 9 PM and 4 PM the following day. You’ll pay as little as 23 cents per kWh in the winter and 25 cents per kWh in the summer—the equivalent of paying less than $2 per gallon of gas!
Commercial Charge Ready Program
Public, commercial, and multifamily properties can also qualify for another SCE EV charger rebate program so long as they install four or more EV chargers and join the utility’s TOU and demand-response plans.
SCE offers rebates for both existing properties and new construction projects, with eligible public and commercial properties in disadvantaged communities qualifying for a turnkey installation program.
